Czech Republic
The Czech Society for New Materials and Technologies (CSNMT) was founded in 1993 and it is a voluntary association of individual and collective members who reside in the Czech Republic (CR).
At present, technical sections of CSNMT are being established, whose main objective is the technical development of new technology branches of manufacturing and processing materials and materials engineering in CR. In addition, the sections guarantee a professional platform of communicating with similar institutions abroad, they endeavour to apply new methods of research and development solution to technical practice, and they create conditions for disseminating new knowledge in the technologies of production and processing of structural materials and in materials engineering. With respect to the long-term development of the technical disciplines of materials engineering in CR they provide, if necessary, consulting and expertizing activities.
The following technical sections have been established:
- structural steels,
- non-ferrous metals and their alloys,
- polymers,
- metallography,
- databases of structural materials,
- forming of materials,
- surface properties and surface treatment,
- corrosion,
- materials for electrical engineering.
