Austria

Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG)
FFG is participating as programme manager and/or as programme
owner. If not programme owner, the programme owner is the Federal
Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology, which has
specifically mandated FFG for the purposes of the present
project.
Application-oriented research funding ("bottom-up") forms the
basis of research and technology funding in Austria. With the
General Programmes the FFG supports commercially
viable research projects carried out by companies, research
insititutes, individual researchers and inventors. In principle the
funding awarded by the General Programmes of the FFG is not tied to
specific technology fields or call dates. This bottom up principle
means that there are absolutely no restrictions or preferences
regarding specific technologies or research areas.
A total of maximum 50% of R&D costs can be funded with a
mixture of grants, loans and guarantees. Personnel costs, capital
investment and other costs (such as patenting, materials, travelling
and subcontractors) are eligible.
The projects are evaluated and monitored according to the FFG
funding rules (see http://www.ffg.at/content.php?cid=8)
