Basque Government EUROBULEGOA
The Basque government, through its Technology Directorate, has
launched ETORTEK, which is a strategic programme focused on five key
areas, first among which are micro- and nanotechnologies. The programme
seeks to promote technological excellence based on the membership of
European networks, and for that reason warmly welcomes the MNT ERA-NET
initiative. Its operational aims are to support the creation and
dissemination of the knowledge in micro- and nanotechnologies which
will permit the sustained development of the Basque economy in the
short medium and long term.
The Basque Government’s Technology Directorate is participating in
MNT ERA-NET as both programme owner and programme manager.

Spanish Ministry of Education and Science (MEC)
The Spanish Ministry of Education and Science is the central
national organization in Spain promoting and funding scientific and
technological research at universities and other research institutions
(e.g. CSIC). The General Directorate for Research is launching a new
specific strategic action on Nanoscience and Nanotechnology to promote
coordinated multidisciplinary projects covering most significant fields
in nanoscience and nanotechnology for the next four years (first year
budget is €12 milion). Besides, general programmes are running in
related scientific areas such as material sciences, physics,
telecommunications, and biology. Additional programmes in the ministry
cover funding for infrastructure facilities related with nanoscience
and nanotechnology.
Activity within MNT ERA-Net will be particularly focused on
technological implementation related to nanotechnology.
