Enterprise Ireland

The mission of Enterprise Ireland is to accelerate Ireland’s national and regional development by working with Irish companies so that they can grow in world markets.

There are three core issues on Enterprise Ireland’s agenda: technology innovation, business development, and internationalisation

Through its business development support, Enterprise Ireland’s strategy is to bridge the gap between innovation and internationalisation.  Enterprise Ireland staff work with the research community and with companies to exploit the benefits of technology innovation and to grow export business.

Enterprise Ireland currently manages and has managed research development and innovation programmes on behalf of the Ministry of Enterprise Trade and Employment for almost 30 years.  As a result many Enterprise Ireland staff have built up detailed knowledge in the promotion and management of research, development and innovation programmes in the universities, research centres, and in companies.

Enterprise Ireland has been involved in the promotion of all Framework Programmes to Irish organisations and has assisted their involvement in these programmes.  Currently Enterprise Ireland manages the National Contact Point Centre (NCP) for Ireland and also hosts the Innovation Centre Relay Centre. Staff of Enterprise Ireland have, on behalf of the ministry been national delegates to many of the framework programmes.

Enterprise Ireland is participating in MNT ERA-NET as the delegated programme manager of  the Ministry of Enterprise Trade and Employment.
